Compare Apple silicon Mac configurations
Use this tool to place up to five Apple silicon Mac configurations side by side on MacDiff’s shared scale. Bars show CPU and GPU indices where the entry-level MacBook Air M1 = 100. Pick any mix of MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, Mac mini, Mac Studio, iMac, Mac Pro, or MacBook Neo configs from the catalog.
This page is the interactive comparator — not a Geekbench leaderboard and not a long-form “M1 vs M4” article (those live under /vs). Also: CPU · GPU · methodology.

How to use Compare
- Add a configuration from the catalog (search or browse).
- Add a second (and optionally up to five total).
- Read the relative bars: higher index ≈ higher MacDiff score vs the M1 Air baseline.
- Open a model page for memory/storage/MSRP context, or jump to chip-bin rankings for the wider field.
What the bars mean (M1 = 100)
An index of 167 means roughly 1.67× the baseline M1 Air on that metric. CPU and GPU are scored separately — a machine can lead on one and not the other. Indices are MacDiff’s own units (methodology).
Popular starting pairs

Suggested configs: baseline Air, Air M4, mini M4, Studio M3 Ultra.
Air vs 14″ Pro on MacDiff
Same chip bin ⇒ same MacDiff CPU/GPU indices, even across Air and Pro chassis. Use Compare to pick an Air config vs a 14″ Pro config; when scores tie, decide on display, ports, thermals, and battery — MacDiff does not score those. Pro/Max bins only appear on Pro (and desktop) lines — that is when the index gap appears.
Mac mini vs Mac Studio on MacDiff
Use Compare for a mini SKU vs a Studio SKU. MacDiff ranks chip bins only: mini often lands on M4 / M4 Pro classes (example M4 10c/10g at 167/192), while Studio reaches Max/Ultra GPU bins (example M3 Ultra 80-core at 885 on /gpu). Same CPU index can pair with very different GPU indices — check both bars.
Not a Geekbench chart
Geekbench Browser and media roundups publish different scores on different scales. MacDiff Compare only shows MacDiff indices. For chip-bin leaderboards see /cpu and /gpu.
